..specifically, the suffering of animals.
you can talk about free will/sin/people choosing to not listen to god etc to explain human suffering being allowed.. but how can you love a god that allows animals, that haven't sinned or chosen to not have anything to do with god, to have their short lives ended in often long, drawn out, painful ways.
i could list stories i've read that would probably make you feel ill, but i'm not looking to shock anyone or start an emotional debate.
I agree with the JW perspective on why God allows suffering and will continue to allow it until his set time to straighten things out.
What we feel/think about his methods/motives/whatever is of no consequence. He's the Almighty God.
Hope for the best is all we humans can do.

i haven't been here in quite a while and thought i'd pop by.
i do lurk at times, i confess lol.
after reading the recent publications at the new golden calf (jw.org), my mind is kind of blown that jw's are still not seeing through the constant adjustments, clarifications, new light and reversals.

Many inside are quite aware of the adjustments/new light (?!), but the JW association overall works for us, for whatever reason.
Try rationalizing it the way some people are politically 'party affiliated', that no matter what the party does/changes/adjust/stands for or against, either the person themselves agrees with it or not, they ultimatelly are 'party affiliated' and their loyalty is to that no matter what.
Going down with this ship. However, JW ship not going down just yet, moving along quite well actually.

Putting in hours knocking on doors where you never talk to a single person is more important than helping people in the congregation who are struggling with problems.
As long as we cover our assigned territory with as much efficiency as possible according the Org's determined "Good News", that's our measure of success, whatever the outcome.
The Spanish congregation I attend is very loving and helpful to all JWs in 'good standing', and so I've observed of other surrounding congs; now, if you happen to be a wishy washy no-show-submarine-type JW, with lots of crappy excuses, then forget about it, find your support elsewhere.

Noah covered his territory and didn't recruit anyone else but his family members. Lot tried talking some sense on the people of Sodoma and Gomorra without recruits, hell, even his wife got affected by it.
In that line of thought, so long as we cover our assigned territory with whatever propaganda the Org cooks up, that's how we measure success.
Don't sweat too much our business; we got it covered.

It's kindda the same reasoning why I stay a JW: Could care less about its foundation, its founders, the flip-flops, etc., it just works out for me and so many others inside. It's the right fit now; sooooooo good!

So, you left an Org'd religion to go into another. Perhaps you enjoy some sort of structured association. Rather than isolating yourself, keep trying to find a group that validates you and stick with it. Maybe it is not in a religious group; see if doing some humanitarian work satisfies your needs.

i've applied to be reinstatement in a new city after attending meetings for a bit.
i wrote my letter and they heard my case.
they were very helpful.
